MPLS/OSPF.BGP ARE THE BEST COMBINATION AS OSPF IS A LINK STATE ROUTING PROTOCOL IT ALLOW US TO FORM TRAFFIC ENGINEERING TUNNELS WITHIN THE MPLS CORE BECAUSE OSPF IS EXTENDED TO CARRY TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DATA IN OPAQUE LSAs THAT EIGRP IS NOT CAPABLE OF AS ITS A DISTANCE VECTOR ROUTING PROTOCOL WITHOUT OSPF AND ISIS TRAFFIC ENGINEERING IS NOT POSSIBLE IN MPLS CORE.
In transport netwroks, MPLS-TP specifically is meant for traffic engineering links creation. That can provide E2E LSPs deployment. OSPF being a link state protocol is best suited for this role as EIGRP use distance vectoring so it will not be a good choice
MPLS/OSPF/BGP are better than MPLS/EIGRP/BGP because OSPF support traffic engineering within the MPLS core. EIGRP is not capable of as
MPLS/OSPF/BGP will be the best option to impliment service for ISP.
In general condition I will go for MPLS/OSPF/BGP but if Cisco routers I will go for MPLS/EIGRP/BGP. reasons are fast convergence than ospf, supports multiprotocol stacks,protocol independent module.
In most of the ISP domain we can observe that combination running is MPLS- MPBGP along with OSPF OR IS-IS
In ISP domains it goes Like MPLS -BGP with ISIS/OSPF.
the best comibanation is MPLS, OSPF AND BGP for service provider grade network. OSPF is sually the preferred IGP for service provider environment because of it support for traffic engineering. which is usually a base requirement fro deployment of MPLS.
EIGRP is not Supporting MPLS.
MPLS required OSPF/ISIS to work.
MPLS/OSPF/BGP should be the best combination in service provider network.
The best combination to use in MPLS/OSPF/BGP
