Pd pumps have better for operation or centrifugal pumps?

Packing failure restricts the long run of reciprocating pump. Centrifugal pump is almost a trouble free pump.

it depends on service if u want to high capacity centrifugal pumpd would be prefered , but if ur desired parameter is high pressure then pd pump is best

It totally depends on your application. If you want to use a pump for dosing purposes, you will go for a PD pump. If variable flowrate is not a major issue, a centrifugal pump can be used. 

In case of operation, there are different things to take care while operating a PD and Centrifugal Pump. Imagine closing down the discharge line of a PD pump. That could be trouble. Imagine closing down suction line of a Centrifugal pump. That could be trouble. None is better than the other if you arent careful. And its not like if one is better you can replace it with the other. Thats because, for a particular application you have to use the specific pump only.
