Would learning 2 languages at the same time confuse one's brain? How exactly?

Actually yes, the person will be confused with these languages as he still dose not know any of them well so he can misuse the words from both of them, so better to start one after another, in any case this depends on person himself, some people can do it but others are not.

Yes, if someone learns two similar languages, but learning two different languages is a better choice.

actually yes, specially if they are 2 language for some family for example spanish and italian both are latin and even they are some pronunciation and calligraphy are some. example house is casa in both language but in italian is casa (Z) and in spanish is casa (S)

There is such a thung as interlingual interference, so yes, sometimes it can be quite daring and confusing but I know quite a few instances when people did learn 2 langugaes and managed to master them both
