Customer satisfaction is directly propotional to Quality of the Product delivered. Quality means - When a product is manufactured at a minimum cost and if the product meets all the basic requirement of the customer then it is said to be a high Quality product.
Lean Manufacturing process leads to improve Quality thus by reducing waste ( Non value added time ) from the Production process. Applying Lean manufacturing Tools such as JIT, KANBAN, HEIJUNKA etc enhances productivity by eliminating waste (non value added time).
Satisfying customer orders is being more and more complicated for many reasons: product and process change, material shortage, qualified operators, quality issues, delays in scheduling, breakdowns, all these unhappy situations happen in a combination in everyday business. A good lean oriented business will be able to face this problems and minimize impact on costs and performance, thanks to just in time flow and autonomous trained operators. which is not given for a classic operation business. Due to bureaucratic decision making and rigid scheduling and closed mind personnel, this kind of business will suffer and will not withstand the increasing constraints.
