It mostly depends on the age and the authority of the website. I am giving a brief outline of Digital marketing strategy of a new online shopping website.
Start with a budget allocation of 50% PPC (60% Search,30% Display and10% Remarketing) ,20% Social Paid,10% Social Organic and20% SEO. In the PPC segment target for maximum conversions and in Social go for maximum visibility.
As you gradually build up the authority of the website more and more taper yourself from paid to more towards the organic model. In a year time your budget allocation should somehow look like this40% SEO,25% Social Organic,10% Social Paid and25% PPC (40% Search,30% Display and30% Remarketing)
If you want to be sooner in competitor marketer, so you have to initial with paid, as it best to make it brand faster. keep the content unique and relevant to help for organic traffic. Rest website god is there means ( Google).
Dear Farhan,
I have worked as an account manager for one of Pakistan's leading e-commerce stores. You need to have a mix of marketing channels. I agree that organic is important and you need to focus on making sure your content is original and not copied so that your SE ranking will go up.
Use free tools such as google analytics to help you see which channels are helping you get traffic and which are not.
Remarketing is a great method and helps to build an audience, you can also make sure your site is mobile and tablet optimised
