I think that without good education, you can't have good skills. And for that effort, it is not difficult if you are training someone who is willing to learn. If candidate don't show his/her will for learning after one week, there is no need for 2 months.

I think education is more important because if you have knowledge you can do the work properly. By putting action your knowledge your practicing or improving your skills.. As they say knowledge is a power.

In my opinion if you have a good education and have the skills it complements your work ethic, there is a thin line in application as most educated people are mostly on managerial roles and most of the technical work is left to the floor workers or labourers who technically might not have that good education but have acquired skills. Skills are acquired and same way a toddler learns how to crawl. Walk and run. A company can offer training of their staff even for two months either through workshops or team building because at the end of the day it improves on efficiency.
