"A vacation is what you take when you can no longer take what you've been taking!" - Earl Wilson
i would discuss with my manager before i apply annual leave and explain how my job will be managed in my absence. Then, will apply leave after reaching consensus with manager.
if he/she rejects even after the above process, i would seek reason for rejection. if it is reasonable, i will take positively. if the reason is not convincing, i feel bad and accept the fact and move forward. if manager continues this behaviour, i will escalate the issue to higher management through ethics hotline.
I would become very sad, annual vacation is so important for an employee!
This seems to be a great way to make you employee upset...
I know many companies where such things happen everyday!
You must discuss again and explain why it is necessary for you to go.
If the reason for refusal is for the public interest. I will accept it.
Thanks to invite.
If the situation is so crucial than I can postpond my Annual leave considering the requirements.
I think I will try again when he is in a good mood :)
I would ask him why he can't approve the application!
I will not react. I will respond and convince him why its important for me and for my work.
