The cost of the non-genuine is higher than the genuine one. As a technical buyer what would be your decision ?
My decision we have buy non-genuine becuase the cost will be more if machine stoped work .
Then will order for original and keep stock in store to avoid problems same on future .
We can use non-genuine part temporary till we receive the original to avoid stopping the machine which may cost us too much loss.
Unless, if this non-genuine part could effect the quality of output, then definitely '' No '' we have to wait for that genuine part and keep the responsible person (including his manager) copied about this issue (because he may come up with a solution from his experience).
I have faced similar situations previously and sharing the information was useful and they were able to cover the situation until we receive the exact product we are looking for (I should keep the involved staff updated in such cases).
Best Regards,
I will go for buying a non-genuine part subject to the following:
the requirement is very urgent and non-availability would jeopardise the whole operations;
the warranty of my base equipment is not affected adversely meaning thereby that it does not viloate the warranty terms and conditions;
I do not find to obtain the part from any where even on loan basis;
the cost of non genuine part even if it is higher than the genuine one does not matter under the circum
tances.
Having said all this, I need to consider, evaluate and work out that such a situation does not occur again.
The solution here tends to be a trade off between two unacceptable alternatives and the perfect solution seem to be the enemy of practical solution for those reasons I will opt for non-genuine part as a practical solution.
Based on the criticatlity of Businees i definetly go for Non-Genuine spare inorder to fulfill the business activities/Continuity and as liket it just an event of emergency we do procure from grey market.
so you mean even if we call on dealers other than country of origin this parts isnt available???so no where is it available in the middle east??
i find that hard to believe,but it might happen.
anyway,one month lead time on manufacturing and shiiping the part or only manufacturing.
have you thought of air freight options?
i will rather find a ready part around the world,ship it by air and increase my cost than using non original parts that my damage my machine permanently.
If this machine is a critical machine and shouldn't be stopped, so you have to use the non-genuine spare part, if not you could wait, and another prameter if the spare part will affect the performance so you should wait
I am not techneical buyer but according to business decision process I have to calculate profit/loss outcome over thelife time of this machine and depreciation value in order to take this decision.
I belief the specification is carried out by consignee , assessing the non- compliance with specification entails to reject offer if this RFQ and formal procurement
If it is direct contracting this entails genuine exigency approval from the head
The time remain factor and if this is will result in the stoppage of the machine iam sorry to say this miss- planning
Sale is more important alternately consumer's need also is more important, in this situation technically
I will try my knowledge (by contacts,e-market, online,technical and expertise opinion) to avail this genuine part as early as possible,or alternate arrangement to supply the products failing which I will use non genuine parts because my consumer/sale is more important. Such type of experience I will learn to keep alternate choice.
Depends on Prioroty of equipments operation, if the available spares complies with the parameters,standards and quality, will go for non genuine spares.Otherwise wait for genuine spares, incase of nonpriority.
