A company invites you for an interview, you reach on time and are asked to wait without any clue as to when the interview will occur, what will you do?

I experienced  an interview  recently in which  On reaching  on time  one  employee  was  casual enough to  ask to wait, and  just  peeked  into the  Boss's room and  informed he  is talking  to some  one. She was graceful enough to   check after fifteen  min again with a peek from across her desk three rooms  away without  bothering to call and  inform. I waited forty five    min clueless and  with no information. I  been attending  a HR Manager post   interview  been experienced Professional found  this experience  really unprofessional of not valuing  the  time  of other.

I left  the  venue  and  informed on Mail the  the  secretary in a very decent  tone  that  I had  been waiting  for    min and   I felt  that there was a miscommunication to the  interviewer or a glitch in the  interview  as the time was not coordinated  and  informed  my apology to leaving  the venue and  requested  to be  removed  from the candidature  for  which the  Secretary lashed out with  terms  like a " AUDACITY"  for leaving  and  Impatience  and  characterized me as an incapable person to  multitask.

What do you feel If you are  a company hiring  are  you doing  a favor  for the  person who comes  down for an interview  does his time  not value   or  is it allows   the  company which is Hiring  to  be much upper hand.

Would like your comments  on my action positive  or negative.

Personally I would look at the context.  Make myself at home.  Then approach reception and enquire about the finer detail to this situation.  A few options to consider:  if it is not going to take much of my time, I will wait - giving it 30 minutes to attend the interview.  If the situation is unexplainable, I will ask to reschedule and ploitely leave.  Contect and intent always plays a role in behavior and circumstances.  Ask and make a decition.  Ploite and professional.

Well as an applicant since your applying for a job its very normal for the company to ask you to wait. applicant should have patience during application.

What you should have done is before leaving is to inform the secretary.
