What do you think is the difference between retail banking and corporate banking?

Retail banking is directly dealing with the retail customer and is known as consumer banking or personal banking. It shows the real face of banking to the general public whereas corporate banking that deals with business and firms, also provide syndicated loans and many other services.

On the other hand, Corporate banking is known as business banking, refers to the aspect of banking that deals with corporate customers.

Retail Banking is excusively dealing wiht individual/ consumer Customers and Corporate Banking dealing with Corporte / Firms/ Institutions

The banking industry is divided into two major banking components known as retail banking and corporate banking.

• Retail banks offer their services such as accepting deposits, maintaining savings and checking accounts, and providing loans directly to customers and individuals, instead of other banks and businesses.

• Corporate banking refers to the division in the banking industry that deals solely with businesses and firms and offers services such as savings accounts, checking accounts, loan facilities, credit facilities, trade finance, foreign exchange, etc.

Banking services rendered to companies is called "Corporate Banking" whereas banking services rendered to individual coustomers & consumers is known as "Retail Banking" 

Retail Banking is to deal with individual customers to finance their day to day requirements and corporate banking is to deal with companies for their finance requirement to open new business or to increase volume of business. 

Retail banking deals with individual customers but corporate banking deals with companies and institutions.
