Thanks

In my opinion, all of them, but if we want  to define one so it is the mission in profit organization, and vision in non- profit organization

Thank you for asking this question, allow me to answer in a different way:

Assuming that you wish that no one in this world (Approx.7.5 Billion people) sleeps hungry.

If you start catching fish by yourself, by the end of the day you will feed few hundred stomachs and the purpose would be defeated. On other hand if you ask few thousand to collect wood to make small boats, manufacture fishing rods and teach them how to catch fish, that will make a difference.

But when you start the process, you will find, all of us (Humans) come with different competencies, behavior patterns, Languages and skills. Some of us would be too lazy to think why is it important to teach others when I can fill my stomach myself. But you continue to lead from front, you continue to motivate, inspire them and make them understand the importance of remaining ethical to each other. You continue to make us understand how hunger could lead to starvation and possibly all the way to death. All of this makes us to put extra efforts (Profits) to teach the rest of the citizens how to manufacture boats or fishing rods and eventually how to catch fish.

From the above, assuming “Let the world doesn’t sleep hungry” was the VISION, involving thousands of people, train them to manufacture Boats, Fishing Rods was the MISSION, And for Lazy folks motivating, inspiring, them to put extra efforts, making them to understand importance of remain ethically correct as CORE VALUES.

Which one among three will be most important?

I’m struck over and over and over again how many organizations lack a strong core ideology. By core ideology I mean mission, values, and vision or as some people say purpose, values, and vision.

The most powerful of these is mission. In his book, Start with Why, Simon Sinek describes how the best inspirational leaders start with the question, Why? People identify with purpose.

Now, unfortunately, while this is the most important building block, a mission or a purpose is very difficult to put into action without a crisp vision. Vision is what propels you forward. It’s essential that you depict a clear picture through descriptive means of what it looks like when you arrive at what you are pursuing.

Mission is the building block and vision is the fuel that drives you forward. Your core values are what keep you on track. Without adhering to a set of values, an organization runs the risk of falling apart.

BUT it is the mission that fuels the machine and it is the vision that leaves the tracks and points it in the right direction. It’s the vision that allows the entire organization to run the same direction and accomplish the mission or the purpose.

No organization can get by without all three. But start things with a purpose and building crisp vision will be a great first step.

Vision is the most important as based upon vision only mission & core values are cultivated.

Vision as Mr.Omar claimed

Because if you reach your vision it will accompany both your mission and core values that were needed to carry out the mission in odrder to reach your vision.
