this is a lose-lose scenario. For a dispute to end up at abbritation, it means that there was a couple of things that went wrong and now all trust are broken.

Conflict managment is a very important course that all managers needs to be trained on. In some scenario's the manager will engage with the employee and try to resolve the burning issues. On more serious scenarios the manager should not engage as this will only fuel the situation and rather issue an instruction and take it from there. Importantly a manager/supervisor should ensure that he is setting an example and follow all procedures to ensure that he can lead his team in a transparent, fair and disciplined manner.
