Set right goals and measureable objectives in system that can record employees performance again them in a timely manner and flag wherever there is deviation. A bi-yearly town hall meeting / session will certainly help refresh memories, whereas management can learn from employees out of their experiences to fine tune HR systems and make adjustments.
