Ms project is helpful for all projects? yes or no?

i think ms project was developed to assist a project manager in developing a plan, assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing the budgets and analyzing workloads only but not for all projects

Of course no, ms-project helpful for small, midum projects, but huge projects primavira is most helpful.

I would go for Yes, even though it lacks some capabilities other costly software would provide. It's a compromise if we are doing a wide range of projects with different scales.

The choice is the same when you need writing a scientific paper: MS Word or Latex?

The decision will have to take into consideration the degree specificity of the project, because software developers deliver applications that are destined to serve the  widest range possible of costumers.

On the other hand there's also the question of integration and I believe that MS Project Server will do greatly if integrated with MS Sharepoint, if you are looking for task  with the irrespective document management, but you will only profit from the investment in large implementations.
