what is your act for employee have a bad habit like coming late but he is doing his job probably ?? and you don't want to go bad for the remaining staff?
I would invite them for a meeting and talk to them and try to learn the reason for the lateness. I would be supportive, and set an action plan
I will set up a short meeting with the employee to give him a direct advise to sort out his late attendance issue which it should not be habit anyway , as this will negatively affect the work environment and it will refelect on the remainuing staff.
Also i will seriously mention that doing the job correctly dosent give him any justification to continue coming late at works and it will not allow us to be tolerant anymore on descipline at work, So may serious action officially it will take place on him.
I would make sure to keep reminding my employees that attendance matters as well as being on time. It is part of our responsibilities as professionals to present the company to the best of our abilities. I would first mention this statement during a couple of staff meetings in a group setting. If the employee continues to be late, then I would give a verbal warning individually, then a written warning, then place on an mprovement plan for one year, where the employee is offered less assginments for one year while under the supervision of the direct supervisor until the attendance improves.
All of these steps will take place under the supervision and support from the Human Resources Department and the management team
Iwould estimate how disruptive this is, and if the lost time is satisfactorily being made up elsewhere. I would ask why he is late and I would have a private one on one conversation to explain to him that his un-professional timekeeping performance puts the manager in a bad place when the other and possibly more junior staff members come in late - how does he recommends this is dealt with.
You are doing an excellent job. Then why do you want to have a negative aspect like this, being not punctual. You will have a great future if you can improve on your punctuaity. I am sure you would like to do it.
How do you admit that this employee is doing his job properly when he is used to coming to work late? Being on time is part of the job and discipline.
The secret of success is discipline
First, try to find out why this employee often arrives late to work
You must sanction him simply
If he continues, you must take more serious disciplinary action
