Efrctive internal audit functions help organizatiion accomplish their business objectives by brining a systemic,disciplined appproach to evalute and improve the effectiveness of governrance, risk management and control orocess. - The bursting of the asset bubble, combined with the meltdown of the global economy has revaled blond spots resulting from a tunnel-vision approach to governrance and risk management which threatened not just groth, but also business survival. -The resulting puplic outcry abd regulatory response has led boards pf directors and chief executive officers(CEOs) to search for ways to upgrade theit risk and control mechanisms and governrance practices. -There is a growing clamour for a manadate for internal audit to raise its game and be an enable for raising the effectiveness of corporate Governance
