Good question Mr Selvam!

I am not sure if there are different METHODS to recycle plastic. But the general process goes as follows:

  1. Collection: Plastic materials are collected from various corners and transported to a collection area. Objects like jars, bottles, toys etc.
  2. Sorting: This part of the system sorts the plastic based on their polymer content, or resin content. A machine sorts the plastic based on resin/color and also by scanning the code at the bottom of the plastic objects that you see in under any plastic objects. This system also eliminates contamination.
  3. Shredding: Next comes a machine that is used to shred or cut plastic into small tiny pieces or flakes. A machine separates lighters pieces from the heavier ones based on the recycled plastic application.
  4. Cleaning: Now these flakes are cleaned to remove any contamination using detergent and then dried with heat.
  5. Melting: Next stop, the flakes are melted under controlled environment and made into granules or chunks.
  6. Forming pellets: Here the melted plastic pieces are compressed in order to form pellets These pellets are further transported to the plastic product manufacturers.

And that, is the basic outline of a plastic recycling system.
