You must understand that television is a powerful tool of selling ideas to the public and children's minds are very suseptable to outside sensory influences at an early stage. Nobody knows it better than the companies, who want to get children hooked onto their products at an early age, like for example, McDonalds who want to get the children on their juck food, which creates a customer for life.
And the media knows that and they make and spent a lot of advertising to get the younger generation hooked on their products to become life time customers. If children watch TV they should closely be supervised by parents and not just dumped in front of the TV to keep them occupied. Since TV has been introduced, young people are reading less, and the TV (now the internet) has become a major souce of information.
Children should only be left to watch TV once they are old enough to mak moral decisions for themselves. Even the TV age rating is not reliable form of juding the age for a child to watch TV, because their main philosophy is getting the child as early as possible to create a life time customer.
you can allow your children to watch television at age of 4 year but allow them the attraction progrm as cartoon laugh emission and no way to allow them for effort program as science or cognitif because in this age the child is on peace think and this age is the age of pause (latence time so all psychologist say it be more important to child to play than to think g. luck
I think there are many learning programs are play in the Television so If think its good for your children and they can learn form this then you can give them watching Television .
Prefferably after the age of 6 when the child has had enough experience with nature as it will vastly empower his/her critical thinking
After that the child will be able to relate and differentiate what he/she watchs on the television concerning real life
