- In my point own point of view there are two ways of self motivation
1- positive: is to always look for you'r goal don't make anything makes you down
2- negative : is to think about that you are going to lose your goal & think how you can save it and i believe that both are important -being a self motivator (+ve or -ve) means that you wont go down you will keep on fightijng for your goal -off course it will since you will always be looking at your target & doing your best to get it and i got a word which is imagine yourself achieving the target & how happy you will be & how people will celebrate that & you will be able to achieve it

Actually, there is no human being is self-motivated, there is a person who got some motivational factors that increased his motivation level; these factors or characteristics vary from person to another according to his needs.
It is the manager's job to identify the best methods to maintain his team motivation to enhance their performance.

Self Motivation is not an outcome of rewards & recognition alone.
It is basically a core element in our psyche, attitude which acts like a Sail to boat when the propeller of promised accolade/gain has failed/is absent.
It aids one to survive/be focused in odd times as well as invigorates to pursue something different/take risks with positive mind-frame..professional & personal alike.E.g.
-a child is self motivated by passion/desire to become a pilot/doctor/architect when he/she sees an impressive aircraft/hospital/building..
-a person has resigned to pursue his higher studies on his own (not financed by employer) then he is self motivated to become better as a professional/person with it's completion.
-a soldier/fire fighter while performing on war-front/inside burning buildings are determined not because they visualize a gallantry award conferred to them..but they are self motivated by their duty/ work ethic for the job/role they are into..realization of the difference there performance makes to so many human lives.
Self Motivation Always Helps One To Perform Better in life as a Person/Professional because Competitiveness, Jealousy, Reward/Recognition are Temporary drivers & they also thrive upon as a layer on basis of Self Motivation only.

for me it is simple: if somebody else can do it, so can I.
That motivates me.

Self motivation vary from person to person….few people are self motivated if they have been compensated well (higher salary)….few people are self motivated because they enjoys the power they possesses in their professional life (bosses/supervisors)….few people are self motivated because they are learning and developing themselves on the job they perform (most likely fresh graduates or young professional)….
Maslow’s theory describes the best answer for self motivation…your motivation depends upon the level of need….if you are on level one (basic) or on top level (self actualization) and you are getting it what you want then you are self motivated….because if you are self motivated then you know the ways of fulfilling your needs….and eventually it will have impact on your performance because you will love your job and will be more involved in it…..

This issue has wide range of perspecives, but in theory, people are motivated when they have job knowledge, and they are performing well in the worke role.. but in my own pov, achieving, gaining knowledge, and applying what is learned as well as being promoted..i become motivated by my self because am being close to self actualisation
