An assistant's inquiries are as important as a customer's and treating it with respect is a must.  It must be in writing so it can be a file.  Treat it as a priority and deal with the need by a one-to-one appointment and find out the problem(s).  Make the notes where necessary and ask a supervisor if it needs more attention and if a decision is involved.  Solve the problem by giving a solution if you can and keep a file report for any future reference, if needed.  It would take normally 7 working days or three weeks for an inquiry to be given a solution.

Check if he/ she's following my way as a leader then hand it to the assistant, being a learnaholic is a poor thing i have in my personality they might have better ways than me.
