This would depend on the type of patient. Certain patients will require constant one on one supervision to ensure safety whilst others may not. As a general point, the patient environment should be kept clean and hazzard free for example ensure there are no items surrounding the bed space which may lead to a fall. Ensure medical procedures are done within the appropriate hygenic guidelines and these are adhered too. Ensure patients are checked up on regularly and any concerns they have are addressed and escalated as appropriate. A key point is also to ensure adequate hydration and nutrition particularly in the vulnerable and long term patients.
