Diesel Engine oil (DEO) generally has higher S content, hence the DEO would have higher TBN. Currently 9 to 10.

Due to larger amount of contaminents in diesel fuels, it has larger dosage of detergents.

Gas Engine generally has lower Sulphur content, henvce the TBN is lower. Currently 7 to 8.

In operations the Gas engine tends to run a bit hotter.
