Azure Blob Storage is "Object" storage where the data are stored as key reference values. AWS EBS (Elastic Block Storage) are block based storage like our traditional disk storage (tracks/sectors), which could be used along with server without any special drivers/tools. Where as Object storage needs special tool plus this could be accessed using HTTP protocol provided permissions are in place
