There are different types of 3d visualization - architecture, interior, production and character art. For 1st and 2nd i recommend you to use 3ds Max & VRay (Corona) software. Notice, that Corona is easier than VRay, but VRay has more useful settings - so decide yourself. If you want to be specialist in VRay, you have to learn all basics of this rendering system - that's why "VRay Guide" by Franzesco Legrenzi is the best choice for you. For practice use Youtube and Viscorbel lessons (!). For production design and characters (especially sci-fi hard surface) i will recommend you to work with Keyshot or Marmoset Toolbar. Good luck.

as a 3D visualizer I'm using 3Ds Max, Sketch Up, Cinema 4D applications for 3D visualization.
