The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel safety, will correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority, although the Safety Officer may exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required. The Safety Officer maintains awareness of active and developing situations.Ensures the Site Safety and Health Plan is prepared and implemented. The Safety Officer ensures there are safety messages in each Incident Action Plan.

All courses will cover the health and safety legislations you need in the workplace,as well as regulations,risk assesment and aciident investigation techniques.The three main courses taken by aspiring safety officers are-

  • Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Level 3 ( NVQ) Certificate in  Occupational Health and Safety
  • National General Certificate in OccupationalHealth and Safety
