The organization has got a positive role in improving the employees skills. It may be  in different ways like:

1. Planned training program which is prepared on yearly basis, someone may say it as ' Training Caledar'. The organization prepare the training instruction where it makes a clear proposition that one training is MANDATORY for all in a year, it may be either core skill (hard skill) or soft skill training. Accordingly employees perticipates the training as per their requirement.

2. The other one is 'ON THE JOB TRAINING'. This is important for the employees as they learnt the job practically in line with individual's profession and it is very useful.

3. I think if the organizations follow this practices, it is going to work in skill development. Remember, mentoring the employees by their supervisors is also effective to find out the weaknesses of their skill aspect.

4. In my organization the above process is practiced religiously.

Respected Sir

If the employee’s mind is free from prejudice skills can easily be learned by him/her and it is a win/win situation. The employee is adding value to himself and making his cv more attractive and the company is saving the cost of recruiting new people for new job roles. In this competitive market place a product or service may become obsolete very fast. And to survive in this market companies should be willing to impart training to deserving candidates. An employee who does not want to hone  his skills, and opposes change is like a bird selling his feathers for food. One day when the feathers are all gone he would have no food to eat, as he cannot fly anymore. A firm selling gramophone music records in1960, would sell cassettes in1980 and music DVDs in2000 onwards. As the production process changes the organization would have to impart new skills for willing workers  to stay competitive. Yes training on the job or otherwise is the main instrument to enhance  the skill of employees.
