Greenhouse technologies are modern methods of farming under controlled climate conditions, usually inside greenhouses. By using modern materials, autovent greenhouse, automation and environmental controls such as temperature and humidity, agricultural producers can achieve increased productivity and crop quality. Greenhouse technologies can extend the growing season, minimize risks from weather conditions, reduce water and fertilizer consumption, and reduce the impact of pests and diseases, which ultimately leads to increased yields and profitability in agriculture.

To grow vegetables in unfavorable weather conditions is called “growing off-season vegetables”. Growing off-season crops in Greenhouse is a new technology. Greenhouse practiced year round and offers maximum crop yield, better management of the fertility of land / soil, controlled temperature and humidity, protection from wild animals and insects and better water management. Vegetables grown in tunnels/Greenhouses result in high productivity, reach in the market- days earlier than normal season and bring many times more profit to the farmer. High temperature and high humidity inside the tunnel encourage a rapid plant growth. In such conditions inset pests and diseases problems also increases. Therefore, trained farmers should opt for tunnel cultivation.Vegetables like cucumber, tomato, green chilies, bitter gourd, gourds and melons are successfully grown. Greenhouse is introduced to:• get maximum output with minimum input• obtain maximum yields easily• maintain better soil fertility• control temperature and humidity• protect crop from wild animal and insects• better management of fertilizer• better water conservation
