TO select text: shift+arrow keys.

Right arrow selects the character next to the cursor.

Left arrow selects the character before to the cursor.

Press Ctrl+C to copy text/object. Ctrl+A to select the entire document. Ctrl+X to cut the selected text.

Press Ctrl+V to paste the copied text/object.

Always make sure that the cursor is the right place.

If your mouse is not working use tab key to navigate between the options.

Keep in mind that you cannot select text left the cursor and right to the cursor simultaneously. This is because one cancels the action of the other i.e. if you press shift+right the character/object right to the cursor is selected. If you then press Shift+Left the character gets deselected.

You have to press and hold the shift key until all the required areas are selected.
