First aid for seizures is aimed at keeping the person safe until the seizure stops on its own. Stay calm, loosen anything around the person's neck, do not restrain them or put anything in their mouth, clear the area around them, and stay with them after the seizure stops.

When a seizure occurs, the main objective is to protect the person from an injury. Try to prevent a fall by leaving the person on the floor in a safe area free of furniture or other sharp objects. Rest the head of the person. Loosen tight clothing, especially around the neck.
