First i will understood his opposition then Give him a positive vibrate to work.
I'll talk to that person privately and tell say the positive or negative effect about it then i'll make sure that i will make that person to understand everything in a positive and professional way.
A senior members are defenitely th persons to whom we should look at from the perspective of career growth. They are called seniors because they are more capable in some way or other. So I can advice the new to take the senior as a model and go ahead.
As an Old member been confinded in by the new joiner, such open minded and expression from him to me is a good clue to me that i can advice him and he will hear. Therefore I will Advise him to just keep calm and observe more the senior members, as it is normal to get heated up being in the new environment. This is a new home for him, I have to make him feel they are all family members that have different stress and tasks to meet up with. With time he will get used to them
I will explain the new member to have a good understanding about the organization because it is the collection of people coming to work with different place with different behaviou, education background and working style but for common goal. And so he should expect difference in opinion, suggestion & ideas. Thus the importance of having good working relationship with all staff members no matter how difficult would fall here. I also added him he needs to engage himself to know more about people and be familiar with the working culture. This way he might increas his interaction with people that will help him to know more about people and at the same time will help him to crease his visibility in the company.
Will come to know what the uncomfortableness the new member is facing with senior member & will provide the appropriate resolution. Apart from that, as a member of the team, I need to now the profile & other details of each and every member and to inform the new member. Positive points need to be highlighted for good communication & will inform the new joiner about the Senior member about his details, his expertise, specialties, contribution, attention, etc. So finally to keep the team good, great, enhance & move forward is my responsibility.
I will explain the new member and create trust to them and give comfort zone to him.
after that will check with senior person. this will create good environment for the new member.
