These are ISDN (Intergrated Services Digital Network) interfaces.  ISDN is a circuit switch network based system.

Basic Rate Interface (BRI), which consists of two 'B channels', each with bandwidth of 64 kbps, and one 'D channel' with a bandwidth of 16 kbps. Together these three channels can be designated as 2B+D.

Primary Rate Interface (PRI) - ETSI standard contains 30 B channels, 1 D channel of 64 kbps and 164 kbps channel for timing and alarm.  Total capacity of PRI is 2Mbps.

North American Standard for PRI is 23B+D 1.544Mbps.
