In overcoming nervousness, you need to know what works for you. Overcoming nervousness is an individual thing. Some persons prefer chewing gums, some prefers drinking water, some prefers cracking jokes, others prefer taking a deep breath, while some would just pretend like there are no other persons there just them. It all depends on what works for you.

Let me share my experience, first, accept that you have weakness, then, build your skills through short presentation and through reading material. Second, before speaking on any topic gain indepth knowledge on topic(s). The more we practise, more confident we are.
