There are so many project management tools available, many are excellent.
Personally, I'd consider the best project management tools to be ones that are social, which also allow document management, as well as the project management tools. Collaborative elements really do help to contribute to the success of a project, and allows thorough and improved management.I work for a company called Clinked which has developed this kind of software.
Clinked focuses around five main areas.
Pages - Wiki style document/page creator. An advanced document editor.
Files - Store files, share files, comment on files.
Discussions - Discussion boards on which you can discuss projects or hold meetings etc.
Events - Events calendar to manage your key events.
Tasks - Manage your project here, set tasks and deadlines. Clinked will also notify you when you're close to your deadline etc.
The social and file sharing element runs throughout the whole software in an ESN style. Users can comment and attach files within all of the five main areas. It's perfect for project management, with great tools for keeping on top of your work and assessing what has been done.
It's also flexible- If you're a team that works remotely then this is a perfect solution to keep communication flowing. It's so much cheaper than many of it's competitors and it is designed to be easy to use, yet effective.
I work at Clinked so if I can help you any further, feel free to message me.
Good luck!
