Wishes,

Brother the answer to your question couldn't be any specific as because different jobs asks for different level of computer efficiency and skills. Some ask for highly specialized knowledge whereas some required only basics. It's totally depends upon any individual's field, job, career, interest, requirements and so many other factors. Although there are some basic skills which are required in almost every job like;

Microsoft Office

  • Outlook
  • PowerPoint
  • Words
  • Excel

Internet Skills

  • Search engine skills
  • Information tracking skills
  • Blogging
  • Social networking
  • Online marketing/advertising

  • Email writing skills

There is always something new to learn so always be open to new possibilities and changes.

Hope is the answer to your question.

Be computer literate.

Keep learning new ways to navigate the menus, keyboard and make full use of shortcuts.  Shortcuts help to keep your hands on the keyboard, so you don't have to move your hand away to use the mouse which wastes time.

If possible, learn to touch type, type without looking at the keyboard but straight at the monitor as this also saves time and helps with the flow of typing words without stopping.

Main software to learn is WORD.  Depending on your area of expertise and what is expected from you in your work, you could also learn Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook. Being able to communicate to a good standard on Outlook is important for emails which have become quite a dominate means of communication in the work place.
