All you can do is try and simulate and accelerate exterior exposure and the possibility of cracking. This can be done by using hot and cold conditions, dry and wet or a combination of both. The tests that can be performed are tests such as elongation / tensile strength on films or simple inspections on different substrates that may be likely to generate cracks when exposed to different conditions. The fastest way to predict the tendency of a coating to crack is to measure the internal stress and mudding crack resistance. The higher the internal stress, the more tendency the film to crack.
