Hi,

By deafult OSPF will choose the Highest Logical Interface that is configured on the Router as a Router-ID.

Next to Logical Interface it prefers the highest Physical Interface IP that is configured on the Router.

But these Logical and physical Interface will be choosen only of the manual Router ID for OSPF is not configured in the Router.

The Preference order of Router-ID for OSPF is listed Below.

1. Manually configured Router-ID

2. Hightest IP Address of the Logical Interface ( Even the IP Address is small as compared to the Physical Interface)

3. Hightest IP Address of the Physical Interface.

always use the IP address that will represent your router in IP Address form.

The highest logical IP address will be considered as OSPF Router ID.

Preference:-

1) Router-Id manually configured.

2) Highest Loopback IP

3) Highest IP of a physical interface.
