Hello, First of all, m-commerce is part of what it calls e-commerce, where the later is known by conducting commercial transactions via electronic means or tools.
In this regard, Mobile commerce is seen to be one of e-commerce tools.
M-commerce is defined, according to wikipedia as: The phrase mobile commerce was originally coined in1997 to mean "the delivery of electronic commerce capabilities directly into the consumer’s hand, anywhere, via wireless technology."[1] Many choose to think of Mobile Commerce as meaning "a retail outlet in your customer’s pocket." In addition, mobiles are seen to be marketing tools that aim to achieve commercial transactions.
Therefore, one can assume that the major difference between these two important fields attributed to the tool used to conduct transactions 'mainly in relation to marketing'.
M-commerce is seen essential in C2C transaction, where personalization is the key to reach costumers, while e-commerce is seen to cover a wider field of conducting transactions such as C2C, B2C, B2B and even Governmental transactions.
I hope these few words can be useful.

They are almost the same the difference is the channel. When you purchase a new Bag as example,

If you do it from PC on a web site, this is eCommerce. And when you do it using mobile device application (App, USSD, STK or SMS) this is mCommerce.

When you pay using VISA or Bank account this is eCommerce. And when you pay using a mobile wallet this is mCommerce.

This is the high level difference.

I am writing a thesis on a topic related to the m-commerce and I believe that m-commerce is the next wave that will replace the e- commerce sooner or later.
The e-commerce is to conduct a commercial transaction through any electronic form while m-commerce is electronic commerce that is conducting through specific way which is mobile phones or smart phones.
The m-commerce has several advantages over classic e-commerce such as personalization of the service since the mobile phone usually belongs to one person and also knowing the location of the user which brings a lot of valuable applications in a broad category of services called LBS (Location Based Services) which include applications like Location Based Advertising and Finding nearby conviniences.
I hope these few words answer your question .
