The very important tip before going to an interview is that YOU should know what YOU have written in your resume. Always write TRUTH in your resume so that the answers come out confidently and naturally. Be prepared on every single thing you have written in your resume because %questions from the interviewer are based on your resume. All the best.

Be confident.  i personally like those who are confident

DOnt lie.  does not work.  if you ahve to lie, you are not ready

study who they are and how you can contribute to their growth.  probably a definite question

see if they are good paymasters.  you dont want to land up wiht a company who does not pay on time

off course dress well.  be prepared with all docs you midht need

Tricks ?????   dont even go there.  get your job with your confidence and on the basis of who you are.  you dont need to trick anyone.

Apart from the points mentioned here by other professionals, my contribution is:

"Always research on what the company culture and environment are, and see if you fit the box. Then, perform the interview keeping in mind that environment, and you will succeed!"

Take necessary documents which candidate has been requested or previously submitted. Should be well dressed and try to reach on time or earlier, must give answers according to the questions asked and avoid giving any extra information. Be positive and confident.

First thing I'd like to suggest that you should carry your CV with you. The same CV that you sent to the recruiter. That CV should have been customized to the requirement of the company you applied to.

You should be thorough with every word you've written on the CV. Anticipate questions. Prepare with examples to quote for everything possible - for example - achievements, handling challenges, focus at work, team handling, team building, etc.

On the interview day, dress very well. Never assume things will be fine. Smart dressing is never out of fashion. Talk formally and use gestures meaningfully. And most importantly, look into the interviewer's eyes and smile while you answer.
