Counselling.  we need to know the root cause.  it could be someone else in the environment.  it could be THE environment.  it could even be you or the job role he or she has.  there can be many reasons.  this i say from my personal experience.

counselling, talking works.

once root cause is identified, then one can take steps further

Once or twice if you, as a team lead or manager observe and ignore the bad attitude of your team member or employee, it's well and good for you. On the contrary it's your highest disciplined self that you are allowing your sub ordinate to save his face once or twice, BUT not after that. If it happens more than twice, call for a one on one meeting as per company's protocol and give the first warning in a very diplomatic talk. Also tell him/her that you've ignored This bad behaviour of them once or twice before. This way you neither lose your employee nor the company's standards are compromised.

You have to see the contribution of a particular employee towards the organisation.

If the behavior of particular employee is spoiling the system and does more harm than his/her contribution. Leader must adress this issue by speaking to a an employee & try to motivate him/her for the betterment of organisation.

Hence decide accordingly.

In case employee gives more benefit to the organisation and at the same time carries bad attitude. You must speak to your employee for the solution. Afterall each & everything is important in an organisation.

In both the cases we have to see different alternatives and take decision keeping in view the long term betterment of an organisation.
