It depends on organization's policy itself , and it changes from one organization to another.
What happens in the prescribed period is no different to probabtionary periods in any company. Hoever in an internship you are teaching someone to grow and develop skill and whilst it is human to give notice to any shift within that contract, it is very risky espevcially if the intern shows no interest. In that case the notice period will amount to 24 hours notice.

According to:
1- Kind of training.
2- Level of skills required related to the performance gap.
3- The objectives/activities required to achieve.
This will vary from one organization to another. From my experience, the minimum period is 6 weeks with a maximum of up to 12 Months. Again, this will depend on the organization and what type of internship contracts you offer, whether the internship is paid, and so on.
