Hello
Thanks for asking me this question.
According to my opinion, there cannot be a single world language. This is simply because the world is full of innumerable variety of people, classes and creed. On account of this fact the world is constantly amidst a varied forms of cultures everywhere and the communities and societies are running according the their various norms and principles. India itself has as many as 22 official languages.
Taking the above points into consideration, there cannot be a single world language at any point of time or place. People have to move forward with the current world situation where a wide variety of languages are spoken each representing their own culture and society where they belong to.
Nevertheless, English is by far the largest spoken and used language through out the world according the official, periodical researches done from time to time and will continue to be in the times to come.
The next world language will be Arabic. Why? It is because Islam is one of the fastest growing religions in the world and in Islam there is Qur'an. Muslims need to read the holy book which is originally written in Arabic. To be able to understand the Qur'an you have to learn Arabic. So, the spread of Islam in the world is also spreading the next world language which is Arabic.
English and Spanish for now and Mandarin Chinese is the future world language.
i think englilsh would be.
