If you are applying for an ERP role you must be experienced in the proper technology. ERPs can differ quite vastly from Oracle to Sage to SAP – none of these are the same.

Good communication skills are essential both in the spoken word and in written form. You will need to be able to discuss projects and assignments with your teammates in a constructive manner to make sure the process is as smooth as possible.

Many employers want to see evidence that you have worked a full life cycle ERP implementation projects and have had budgetary responsibility. This is important because this proves that you have taken responsibility for a project and have seen it through to successful completion.

It is of the utmost importance that an ERP professional has the ability to share with and listen to their peers.

Employers love to see the proof of that in the form of certifications. Always list your most recent certifications first from Oracle to Sage to SAP.

Regarding the books it depend on the certification you are chosen.
