The following are some of strategies that are considered good for employee relations:
1- Honest, Fair, transparent.
2- Motivation.
3- Social meetings and occasions.
4- Medical care for employee and his close family members.
Be credible, honest, open, transparent, humble, strong willed. Lastly be willing to be wrong.
All the above factors create a space where staff see you as a father figure and take you into their personal shpere. That is the ideal place to be.
Remember that once your staff trust you, they will always follow your lead.
Know the teams personalities. There are courses available to place them in specific catagory that will enable you to have a conversation with the person based on his/her personality.
Secondly, which is propably the most important one is to support the employee. This one carries the most weight out of all strategies, as the employee will mostly only have one need, the need to belong/feel important. This need you fill by engaging in conversation, listening, give advise, coach/mentoring etc.
Remember that you have a goal to reach, and you need the team to help you reach it, so involve the team, and make them feel important whilst following the company policies. Be fair, be transparent and be supportive.

Some strategies that I have learned based on my personal experience for good employee relations were: First, "Professionalism" strategy is one of the key factors to build trust from your co-workers and boss. Second, "Cooperation" rather than just coordination is the best way to have the job well done. And lastly, "Support" from the team, a strategy that should always be a priority when making major decisions for the company.

Treat them like people not employee,develop them so that they can develop you and do not always see the world with your eyes ,see it with thier eyes also.
