What will happen if we increase the gauge no of a wire, while all other properties remain unchanged?

by increasing the gauge numb of the wire, the diameter decreases. so if all the other properties are kept constant, then a wire of lower gauge i-e greater diameter will have low resistance, and a wire of higher gauge i-e smaller diameter will have high resistance.
