the TNA can provide gaps whcih can be filled and performances improved

you retain the best by developing them 

But make sure you do not spend time or monry without a proper professional TNA done.

Do trainings that are "needed" and not "wanted"

ensure your facilitators / instructors are well-qualified to deliver the learning / training.  i have seen completely useless ones

Performance Appraisals are a very good indicator to see the "Needs"

Every traiing should be aligned to the business objectives

new employee inductions are extremely necessary

People are key for success for every organization, every business and once we stop investing into our own people, the market will make selection and not neccesary the impact will be a positive one. As economy itself and market condition changes constantly, so we must follow up and equip people with knowledge, tools or share expereince about how to adjust and accept that changes. More important however, have them trained how to turn the changes into new business opportunities. There are number of benefits if doing so, like more engaged and committed workforce, employee satisfaction / retention, improved customer experience, incresed utilization or productivity, employee loyalty.
