PMP belongs to PMI(Project Management Institute) USA, IPMA (International Project Management Association) belongs to Netherlands and Prince belongs to UK
After years of being in the M. E. I find most companies do not understand what a PMP does. They want "yes" people that do as they are told rather than what should be done from a PMI standpoint.
Just look at99% of job postings these days? Wanted PM - Engineer xx dicipline xx years of experience...
Now can you explain where PMP has anything to do with any Engineering of any dicipline?
PMP is well known, i am working on it right now and i won't leave it until i get it. and i advice everyone to take it.
PMP is recognized globally and it is much more in demand as compared to other certifications that you've mentioned in the Middle East. Being PMP certified helps you in getting better career opportunities and an ability to handle projects more effectively.
PMP. Take it!
I seen many types of this same question, what qualification is better here or there.
Each organisation will state their particular qualification is more relevent than another.
PMP, or IPMA (Project Management), MCIPS, over CPPM (Procurement) etc.
In the long run all that employers are concerned about is can you do the job, and add value to the organisation?
