For concrete works, two basic type of tests are performed,
1. Pre-concrete Mix test
2. Post-concrete mix test
Under pre mix we have
1. Sieve analysis for fine & coarse aggregates
2. Silt test for fine aggregates
3. Impact value for coarse aggregates
4. Flakiness index test for coarse aggregats
5. Water test basically pH (to be used for concrete works)
6. Cement test(initial & final setting time, fineness)
7. Fineness test for Micro-silica (if used)
Post mix test includes
1. Slump
2. Temperature
3. Crushing strength tests in 7,14 ,28 days
Scales/parameters of these tests have been slightly variable in different regions of the world as per their code acceptance like ASTM,ACI, IS,BS etc.
Hope this answer satisfy you.
Thank you.
1) material testing or the pre mix test.
2) mix test or workability test.
3) post mix test or strength test.
Compression Test for 7 Days, 14 Days and 28 Days
Pre-Concrete mix test and post conrete mix test
3 day, 7 day, 28 day Compressive strrength Test, Slump Test, Etc
1-test of fresh concrete is slump test measures the concestency of concrete
2-test of pre-cast concrete is compression test to the crushing in order to measures compressive strenth 7days 14 days 28 days ages
SLUMP CONE TEST
COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH TEST
WATER ABSORPTION
SURFACE ABSORPTION
Before casting: Slump test and concrete temprature.
After casting: Compressive Strength Test (7 - 14 - 28 days).
Also, for investigating concrete strength many test can be used like Schmidt Hammer, Ultrasonic Test and Core Test.
Slump test before leaving the batching plant and on arrival on site
Comprehensive strenght test
Water permeability test
Rapid Chlorde lon penetration test.
Water Absortion Test
Initial Surface Absortion Test
There are many many tests on concrete available and what test to be done depend upon the project requirement.
