What would you do if one of your students refused to do an activity with the rest of the group?

If ever i can experienced or encounter students like him or her that wont do or perform or cooperate activities inside the school, the first thing i would do will be asking so why. Then, encourage and educate them to cooperate because its a part of their important activity. Besides, inform them that it is counted to their records in giving grades, and they earned points by that.It gives them credits in their part especially to their grades later. So as a teacher, it is our responsiblity and duty to our learner to follow whatever activitied done or to be done in school. Because it is a MUST....

Call the student aside and try understand the reason behind the failure, if it's a genuine reason, see if you can provide a solution or refer to someone who can assist. If the reason given is not genuine, then the student is to be purnished. In both the scenerios, insist on the student doing the task and in case of a challenge in future he/she is to report earlier. Talk to the other students more so his/her friends or other members of the group to get more details.

I try to find out the reasons for rejection, and if the reasons are not convincing, I give him support and motivation for the importance of working in groups, because that will increase his experience

It is up to them whether to do or not, I usually calmly persuade them to join the rest and do the job 

Firstly, I would have to engage the student towards understanding why the choice of not being with the rest of the group was made. 

Resolving the situation to my expectation would depend on the findings of the "why".
