Regardless of the opinions of some who accuse the old and senior employees at the duty stations; the right logic to work with them has always been and will be the key to the success of many young people; thanks to the experience they have and love to work and their desire to express opinion and advice; Treasure.
I listen to the advice from the older co-worker analyze
with my our perspective and then based on that we start the conversation.
First of learn the different characteristics of the different age groups forexample, young people are risk takers compared to older ones, older people are slower than young ones......once we have some of these facts in mind then you need not to be stressed out by the behaviour of older people at work.
It’s been tough, working in an environment where most people are even older than my parents. For any of us that can relate, we know how easy it is to sit around complaining about how terrible it is, sulking in us forever alone-ness. That’s what I did for a while. But then it came to a point where I was like you know what? I have to deal with these people for 40 hours a week so let me see how I can get these people to like me, let me be free to them, let me talk with them about there problems, let me try and figure out something good for them, thats how i think all will be good.
Thanks
I support my colleagues answers

they are the easiest to get along, just go general, no comparing between generations, no talking about recent trends that they dont have any interest in, and the most important thing is respect respect respect!
Discuss their experiences and try to invove them in helping younger colleagues to learn from the seniors.
