Well... both Joomla and WordPress have their pros and cons. and to decide on which will be successful will rely on the security measures that both Joomla and WordPress are going to put in place. over the past 5 years we have seen a significant rise in the use of WordPress as websites and not blogs as they were initially intended for, still Joomla has better security but to answer your question, i think it WordPress will surpass Joomla in terms of popularity but Joomla will be safer and with much better security than WordPress so its a 70% undecided users for WordPress and a strong 30% loyal users for Joomla.

I think Wordpress is the right option as it is easy to install and customize. Everything is builtin. Moreover plugins had added the reliability and usability of the wordpress. Integration is very easy by just installing a proper plugin..
Wordpress is the best CMS in the industry compared to others.
Well, my bias is on Joomla but I will try to be fair. Security is a major issue especially concerning Wordpress; so if you will be running an ecommerce site, you need to harden your wordpress site so as to prevent attacks. Also, unlike Joomla, it is hard to secure Wordpress using .htaccess file which will keep on being overwritten by Wordpress. Wordpress is great for blogging and woocommerce is a great extension for those seeking to sell online. The upside of Wordpress over Joomla is its SEO friendliness but its quite difficult to extend it and add more functionalities. Now, I like building Joomla-based sites for businesses since it is more appropriate to business setups. Joomla can be extended as much as you like and with the right SEO tweaks, it is on the same playing level with Wordpress. A hybrid approach is what I've come to like where you use Joomla for all pages on the business site apart from the blog section or ecommerce section as well. You can still use Joomla very comfortably for the ecommerce and blogging but you need to set it up well especially for SEO and email opt-ins.
To cut the lengthy pros and cons short, my pick is Joomla so as to avoid the issues of Wordpress. Eventually, the choice is left to the the web developer/ designer and what they think is the right platform to use.
wordpress is more usefull to creeate business sites and e-commerce
